2011: McCarthy appeared in 10 games in his junior season, grabbing six ground balls and causing two turnovers.
2010: McCarthy joined the St. Lawrence men's lacrosse team in his sophomore season as a long stick middie. A two-year starter on the Saints football team, he saw time in one lacrosse game, scooping up three ground balls and causing one turnover.
At Fairport
McCarthy was a tri-sport athlete, playing Football, Lacrosse and Basketball. He earned Second Team All-County, the Scholar Athlete Award and the Dan Karg award for his performance on the gridiron. He also won the lacrosse team's "Spark Plug Award." McCarthy was also on the Honor Roll.
