"The athletic department and the football program are extremely proud of Dave's accomplishments, not only as a student at St. Lawrence, but his career that followed," said Margie Strait, St. Lawrence University's Director of Athletics.  "His Hall of Fame status at St. Lawrence is enriched by this most recent impressive honor."

He played three years of varsity basketball at St. Lawrence and was a steady contributor, but made his big mark on the football field, where he emerged as the conference's top punter. Jennings earned free-agent tryouts following graduation and landed the punting job with the New York Giants, beginning a 14-year career with both New York teams, the Giants and the Jets.

Following his retirement as a player, he became a broadcaster and has been a spokesman for a number of public service programs. Jennings earned his St. Lawrence degree in economics.
