Nov. 22: St. Lawrence University senior field hockey co-captains Julia Croyle and Emily Riley have each received All-Region honors from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.

Croyle was named to the North Atlantic Region's First Team, while Riley was a Second Team selection.  It is the first Regional All-America honors for Croyle, while Riley was a Second Team selection in 2009.

"I'm very pleased for both of our senior captains to be honored with this award after stellar careers at St. Lawrence," said head coach Fran Grembowicz.

Croyle, the Liberty League's Defensive Player of the Year, was the heart of the Saint defense throughout the 2011 season.  In addition to her outstanding play on the defensive end, she also added three goals including a game-winner.  Julia was named First Team All-Conference and represented St. Lawrence in the Senior All-Star Game.

Riley's senior season ended prematurely due to injury, but the Saratoga Springs, NY native still led the Saints with 25 points (9g,7a) in only 11 games.  Emily was awarded Second Team All-Conference having led the Scarlet and Brown in goals (9), assists (7) and game-winning goals (3).
