Student-Athlete Compliance

St. Lawrence University

Compliance and adherence with the rules and regulations established by the NCAA, ECAC Hockey, and the Liberty League is of critical importance to St. Lawrence University and the Athletic Department. As a member of the NCAA, the St. Lawrence University Athletic Department must meet the standards of institutional control and uphold the rules and regulations mandated by the NCAA.

This website will serve as a reference to many of the NCAA rules that may apply to "athletics representatives". Many of the applicable situations have been included, but not all. If you need specific information that is not included on this website or have further questions, please email our Compliance Coordinator.

What is Athletic Compliance?

Athletic compliance involves adhering to the spirit and intent of the rules and regulations of the NCAA. The Compliance Office within the Department of Athletics at St. Lawrence coordinates the compliance efforts, functions as a resource center concerning NCAA regulations, and serves to educate its student-athletes, coaches, administrators, faculty, staff, and boosters about NCAA rules and regulations. The primary functions of the compliance office are to administer, monitor, and verify the accurate completion of NCAA required documentation, to assist in maintaining institutional compliance with NCAA rules, and reporting infractions or violations of rules to the NCAA.
