Ithaca Turns Back Saints 13-8

Ithaca College scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and went on to a 13-8 NCAA Division III non-league baseball victory over St. Lawrence at Alliance Bank Stadium in Syracuse Wednesday afternoon.

Trevor Wolf , Sean Weber and Matt Keller led a 21-hit Bomber attack as Wolf went four for five and drove in four runs and Weber and Keller three for five with three runs driven in each. Wolf hit two doubles and a home run while Weber doubled twice in the game.

Ethan Braddock went three for four and drove in two runs and Rob Carman was two for three for the 16-15 Saints, who will host RPI in a Liberty League doubleheader on Friday. Ithaca improves to 13-13 on the season.

The Bombers built a 4-0 lead through three innings and after the Saints cut it to 4-1 with a run in the top of the fourth, Ithaca scored two in the bottom of the same inning to make it a 6-1 game. SLU crept within two with a three-run top of the fifth, but the Bombers scored one in the bottom of the inning and then put it away with their big sixth inning.

Aaron Sapp earned the win for Ithaca on the mound, pitching into the seventh, while rookie Matt DeLuca took the loss for the Saints.
