Riley Helps Saints To Season Opening Win, Gettysburg Shuts Down Saints on Sunday
The Saints grabbed a 4-0 lead through three innings and rode the strong pitching performance by Riley to the win. Chris Kellogg pitched two scoreless innings of relief.
Carter Franz went two for three with a triple, and Brian Magovney doubled in two runs in the third for the Saints.
The Saints were on the other end of good pitching on Sunday as Ryan Taylor threw a one-hit shutout and Drew Feisenthal tossed a seven-hit shutout in game two as Gettysburg College beat St. Lawrence 4-0 and 3-0 in games in Ft. Myers, FL on Sunday.
Ethan Braddock had the lone Saint hit in the fifth inning of game one with Andrew Schreyack taking the loss on the mound, allowing four runs, two earned, on nine hits. The Saints managed seven hits, two by Khifer O'Connor, in game two, but were unable to score.
Kevin Prindle took the loss for the Saints, allowing two runs in three-plus innings of work.
The Saints, now 1-2, continue their Florida series against Salem State on Monday..
