Robbins, Irwin Net Top-15 Finishes in Slalom at Dartmouth Carnival

Feb. 12: St. Lawrence University junior Heidi Robbins and sophomore Mackenzie Irwin each landed in the top-15 on Friday in the Women's Slalom at the 2010 Dartmouth Carnival. The duo's efforts helped the Saints' women's Alpine ski squad to a fifth place finish in the team standings.
Both Robbins and Irwin each improved their previous collegiate-best finishes, earning 13th and 15th positions, respectively. Robbins raced in 1:45.06 to land 28.0 points, while Irwin was awarded 26.0 points. First-year student Ashley-Kate Durham rounded out the team's scoring in 18th place, bringing the team's total to 78.0 points.
Sophomores Elena Rogers (27th) and Ann West (32nd) and junior Kelly Skinner (34th) also competed in the Women's Slalom for St. Lawrence on Friday.
Meanwhile, sophomore Jeremy Lawless paced the men's Alpine team with a 28th place finish overall in 1:39.48. The Sherburne Falls, MA native collected 17.0 points for his efforts.
Joining Lawless in the scoring for St. Lawrence were senior Graham Flinn and sophomore Scott Houser. Flinn earned 35th place, while Houser followed in 40th. The trio combined for 42.0 points, finishing in ninth place as a team.
Rounding out the competing roster on Friday were junior Thatcher Jacques (41st) and seniors Michael Wallman (49th) and James Andersen (DNF).
The University of Vermont won both the men's and women's team titles with 121.5 and 118.0 points, respectively. The Catamounts also claimed each individual championship, as David Donaldson (1:29.83) and Megan Ryley (1:41.69) were victorious.
Both St. Lawrence Alpine teams will compete in the Giant Slalom at the Dartmouth Skiway tomorrow, Saturday, February 13.
