Brittany Gaetano ’08, New Hartford, NY, ignites the offense
in women’s basketball.
A three-year player on the Saint
women’s basketball team at guard, Brittany
Gaetano has helped the team to a share of the Liberty League lead through the
first half of the league season. She can put up points like she did in a 61-47
win over Union, scoring 26 with eight three pointers, or she can get the offense
going in other ways. A more typical game for Gaetano was her performance in a
win at Plattsburgh: seven assists, four steals, four rebounds and nine
points as part of a very balanced Saint attack.
Gaetano was a key player as the Saints made the Liberty League championship
game in her sophomore year, finishing third on the team in scoring,
dealing out 72 assists and shooting 94.7 percent at the foul line.
She was the third leading scorer and second in three point field
goals on the team as a freshman as the Saints went 20-6.
In addition to her exploits on the court, Brittany has also been
a standout in the classroom, earning back-to-back Liberty League
All Academic honors as a sophomore and junior mathematics major
and the Ronald C. Hoffmann First Year Scholar-Athlete Award at St.
Lawrence.
