Andrew Engebretson '07

Andrew Engebretson '07 is making a big hit with the St. Lawrence baseball team.  The base hits just keep on coming for the senior right fielder, and with them comes team success.

Engebretson, of Long Lake, MN, where he graduated from Orono High School, is in his fourth season as a starting outfielder for the team. A prolific hitter through his first three seasons, Engebretson got off to a sizzling start as a senior and was Liberty League Player of the Week twice in the opening weeks of the season.  At the end of April, with the regular season nearly completed, he was batting .448. His junior numbers included 47 runs driven in as the Saints won the Liberty League tournament and went on to the NCAA Atlantic Regional, finishing the season with a 24-14 record, tying for the most wins in program history.

“Andrew has always been a good hitter for both power and average, but he is seeing the ball better than ever right now,” said Saint head coach Tom Fay. “He works hard at all aspects of his game and has set a great example for our younger players.”

Andrew is a fine arts major at St. Lawrence.
