Carly Draper ’07

Women’s soccer goalie Carly Draper ’07, Ottawa, Ontario, has started every game of her four-year career and includes 21 career shutouts in an impressive soccer resume.

The Liberty League Defensive Player of the Week twice this season, Draper is winding up a career that will include 64 consecutive starts and over 6,000 minutes patrolling the turf in the goalkeeper’s area.

Draper, an Ontario Scholar and honor society member at Colonel By Secondary School in Ottawa, was a four-sport high school athlete and was MVP of her ice hockey team. She was captain of the soccer team and a member of the Ontario Indoor Cup championship team.

She earned the Bradley R. Evers Outstanding First-Year Student award in her first year at St. Lawrence and participated in the St. Lawrence program in Australia last spring.

When it comes to the fall, she is the person in the Saint net. As a matter of fact, there is no backup goaltender listed on the Saint roster. Draper has a 1.40 goals against average, a 7-5-1 record and four shutouts this season, and had a 1.37 goals against average with seven shutouts as a junior.

A Saint captain who directs the defense in addition to making the big saves, she will leave an important pair of shoes to fill when she graduates in May.
