John Meyer '67
John Meyer had large shoes to step into when his brother Joe, another 1988 inductee, graduated, but it took John only a single season to become one of the most feared linebackers in St. Lawrence history.
Also active in a variety of campus activities and a solid student, John turned in one of the outstanding single game performances by a SLU defender against Alfred in 1966 when he blocked two punts, two extra points and helped block what could have been the game-winning field goal. He was named first team All East at the conclusion of that season. He also distinguished himself on the lacrosse field, earning all league honors with his outstanding play.
He was co-captain in football, captain in lacrosse and president of the L Club as a senior.
John is now the president of his own machine tool company in Indiana.
