Luke Seymour, a 2011 graduate of Canisius College where he played four years of intercollegiate soccer as a goalkeeper, has joined the staff of the Saint men's and women's soccer teams as goalkeeping coach.
A Canton native who was All State for Canton High School in 2005 and a New England Soccer Prep School All Star at Avon Old Farms in 2006, Luke holds an NSCAA National Goalkeeper Diploma. He has worked at the Lake Placid and Coastal Carolina soccer camps as a goalkeeping coach.
In his first season with the Saints, Luke coached Brian Abernethy '12 to several program records, including shutouts in a season (13), consecutive shutout minutes with 1,259:08 (2nd longest in NCAA history, regardless of division). Additionally, Abernethy earned a statistical championship with the lowest goals against average in the country (0.315) and was named a d3soccer.com All-American, and a first team NSCAA Regional All-American, ECAC Upstate All-Star and All-Liberty League Selection.
