Kevin Dougherty '79

A North Country native who was an inspirational leader and a player of exceptional skill and determination, Kevin Dougherty lead the hockey team in scoring at a time when wins were not easy to come by.

As a freshman, he matched the record for assists and points in a game by a first year player. He was awarded the Jinx Doyle Memorial Award at the end of his senior season.

A campus and classroom leader, Kevin tragically lost his life in a boating accident prior to graduation. Since that time, the Kevin Dougherty Scholarship has been awarded annually to a Saint player who displays the same kind of character shown by Kevin Dougherty.
