Head Men's and Women's Squash Coach
Chris Abplanalp took over as the head coach of the St. Lawrence University men's and women's squash programs in December of 2004. The most successful squash coach in St. Lawrence's history, the 2012-13 campaign marks his ninth season at the helm of the program.
A five-time Liberty League Coach of the Year, Abplanalp led his men's team to the Summers Division Championship at the Collegiate Squash Association Nationals in 2007-08. Most recently, his 2011-12 team climbed to its highest ranking ever at 11th nationally, while going 2-1 at CSA Team Nationals. The women's program, which has shown steady improvement in the last three seasons with a young roster, reached as high as 12th nationally in 2005.
In addition to coaching squash at St. Lawrence, Chris is also a coach with Squash and Beyond World, working with young players, as well as professional players and coaches on international tours around the world. He is also a member of the CSA Executive Board.
A Canton, NY native, Chris graduated from Connecticut College, where he was an All-American and two-sport student-athlete. Prior to being named the Saints head squash coach, he spent several seasons as the assistant men's lacrosse coach at St. Lawrence
