Wendy Pavlus improved her own St. Lawrence record and ran an
NCAA provisional qualifying time, and St. Lawrence University's women's indoor
track and field team finished fourth in the 10-team New York State Collegiate
Track Conference Indoor Championships at the Newell Field House on Saturday.
St. Lawrence University's women's indoor track and field
team is fifth after day one of the 2011 New York State Collegiate Track
Conference indoor championships being held at SLU's Newell Field House.
Senior Wendy Pavlus finished second in the 1000 meter run
adding another St. Lawrence record to her already impressive collection, to highlight
the Saint women's indoor track and field team's day at Cornell's Denault
Invitational on Saturday.
Senior Wendy Pavlus won two middle distance events, rookie
Hannah Kinsey won both sprints and anchored the 4x200 meter relay and rookie
Victoria Bean won the long jump and triple jump as St. Lawrence University's
women's indoor track team won its 11th Liberty League Indoor Track
and Field Championship since 1996 at Hamilton College on Saturday. Kinsey was named the women's track event performer of the meet and Bean was chosen as field event performer of the meet.
Lisa Baron
was a double winner in the weight events and Hannah Kinsey won both sprints and
anchored a second place relay as St. Lawrence University's women's indoor track
and field team came through with a strong showing in a Super Dual Saturday meet
at the Newell Field House which included Oswego, Nazareth and Plattsburgh.
Feb. 1: St. Lawrence University senior Wendy Pavlus, winner
of back-to-back Division III cross country national championships, will compete
in the 2011 USA Cross Country Championships in San Diego, CA on February 5.
