Union Edges Saints 2-1 in Tight Contest

Junior forward Katie McLean tapped home a rebound off the crossbar 13:54 into the second half and it stood up as the game-winning goal as Union College completed a weekend Liberty League sweep of its North Country rivals with a 2-1 win at St. Lawrence University Saturday afternoon.

Skidmore Ends Saint Streak in Heartbreaker, 2-1

The goalpost kept one winning streak alive and ended another in the 2009 Liberty League women's soccer opener between Skidmore College and St. Lawrence University at the Saints' Sandy MacAllaster Field Friday afternoon.

Sept. 20: Senior midfielder Becca Townsend scored her second goal of the year off a corner kick 33 minutes into the game and sophomore goaltender Abby van Geldern  made it stand up as the game winner with a four-save shutout as St. Lawrence University's women's soccer team ran its unbeaten streak to seven games with a 1-0 win over Elmira at Sandy MacAllaster Field Sunday afternoon.

Saints, RIT Battle To 1-1 Double Overtime Tie

 

Sept. 19: Sophomore goalkeeper Ashley Valenti made a dozen saves and got some help from the crossbar to help the Rochester Institute of Technology forge a 1-1 double overtime tie with St. Lawrence University at the Saints' Sandy MacAllaster Field in NCAA Division III women's soccer Saturday afternoon.

Saints Score Four Unanswered in 4-1 Win over Oswego

Sept. 16: St. Lawrence University's women's soccer team spotted SUNY Oswego an early goal and then roared back with four unanswered to record a 4-1 NCAA Division III soccer victory at Sandy MacAllaster Field Wednesday afternoon.

van Geldern MVP as Saints Win Tournament Title

Tournament MVP Abby van Geldern turned in a four-save afternoon and helped the Saints' women's soccer team win the Clarion Hotel Soccer Classic by virtue of goal differential Saturday afternoon at Fredonia.

Senior Meg Howard scored two goals and sophomore goaltender Abby Van Geldern recorded her third straight shutout as St. Lawrence University's women's soccer team topped host Fredonia 3-0 in the Clarion Hotel Soccer Classic at Fredonia on Friday.

Saints Blank Castleton, Win Tournament Title

Five different players scored goals and sophomore goaltender Abby Van Geldern recorded her second straight shutout as St. Lawrence University's women's soccer team completed a perfect weekend, capturing the championship of the 2009 Lotto Tournament with a 6-0 win over Castleton State at Clarkson on Sunday.

Sayward Figures in All Three as Saints Dominate Norwich

First-year forward Stephanie Sayward came off the bench and sparked St. Lawrence University's women's soccer team to a 3-0 win over Norwich, scoring two goals and assisting on the third.

Cortland Spoils Saint Home Opener 4-1

The final score doesn't exactly tell the story, but the 2009 St. Lawrence University women's soccer opener was a disappointing one as Cortland State snapped a 1-1 tie 23 minutes into the second half and tacked on two additional goals in the final 11:22 for a 4-1 win at Sandy MacAllaster Field in the season opener for both teams.
