Harvard Closes Out Saints with 8-3 Victory

Feb. 26: Harvard forward Kate Buesser scored a hat trick and teammate Jillian Dempsey added two goals as the Crimson defeated St. Lawrence 8-3 in game two of the ECAC Hockey Quarterfinal series in Cambridge, MA.  The Saints, who clawed back to within a goal after falling behind 4-0, finish the 2010-11 season with a 16-18-2 record.

Harvard Tops Saints 6-1 Behind Big First Period

Feb. 25: The No. 7 seed St. Lawrence University women's hockey team dropped game one of its best-of-three series to No. 2 Harvard University on Friday afternoon by the score of 6-1 in Cambridge, MA.  The Crimson sprinted out to a 4-0 lead in the opening 13:00 minutes, while Jillian Dempsey scored two goals for the home team.

Saints Top RPI, Will Face Harvard in Playoffs

Feb. 19: The St. Lawrence University seniors Karell Emard and Lauren Brozowski each scored a goal, leading the women's hockey team to a 2-1 victory over Rensselaer in Troy, NY in Saturday's 2010-11 ECAC Hockey regular season finale.

Fernandez, Weisz Help Saints Blank Union, Clinch Playoff Spot

Feb. 18: The St. Lawrence University women's hockey team clinched a spot in the 2011 ECAC Hockey Tournament on Friday night behind a 4-0 win over Union College in Schenectady, NY.  Sophomore Brooke Fernandez had a career-high four points on two goals and two assists, while Maxie Weisz and Nicolien Bongaerts combined for a 20-save shutout of the Dutchwomen.

Emond, Saints Burn Clarkson in Overtime, 2-1

Feb. 15: St. Lawrence University junior Vanessa Emond's 11th goal of the season couldn't have come at a better time.  The Levis, QC native scored on a rebound 2:38 into overtime, lifting the Saints women's hockey team to a crucial 2-1 win over Clarkson University at Appleton Arena on Tuesday afternoon.  Graduate student Maxie Weisz turned in 30 saves to anchor the Scarlet and Brown to victory.

No. 10 Harvard Escapes Saints in OT, 3-2

Feb. 12: The St. Lawrence University women's hockey team suffered a tough 3-2 overtime loss to nationally-ranked No. 10 Harvard on "Senior Day" at Appleton Arena.  Jillian Dempsey scored Saturday's game-winner with only 6.3 seconds left in the extra session, giving the Crimson two points in the ECAC Hockey standings.

Scanlon’s Late Goal Pushes Dartmouth Past Saints, 3-2

Feb. 11: Dartmouth College's Moira Scanlon snapped a 2-2 tie at 16:37 of the third period on Friday afternoon, leading the Big Green past the St. Lawrence University women's hockey team at Appleton Arena by the score of 3-2. 

Special Teams Help No. 2 Cornell Rally Past Saints, 2-1

Feb. 5: The St. Lawrence University women's hockey team dropped a tough 2-1 contest to nationally-ranked No. 2 Cornell University on Saturday at Appleton Arena.  The Big Red used their outstanding special teams units and two fortunate bounces to score the victory and clinch the 2010-11 ECAC Hockey Regular Season title.

Saints Earn Key Win over Colgate, 4-2

Feb. 4: Sophomores Michelle Ng and Kayla Sullivan each scored a goal, propelling the St. Lawrence women's hockey team to a big 4-2 victory over Colgate University at Appleton Arena on Friday night.
