No. 6 Clarkson Ends Saints’ Season with 4-1 Victory in Game Three

Feb. 28: The St. Lawrence University women's hockey team's 2009-10 season came to an end on Sunday afternoon, as No. 6 Clarkson used a pair of power play goals en route to a 4-1 victory in game three of the ECAC Hockey Quarterfinal series.

Emond, Saints Rally Past Clarkson 2-1, Force Game Three

Feb. 27: St. Lawrence University sophomore Vanessa Emond snapped a 1-1 tie with 2:56 remaining in regulation on Saturday to lead the Saints' women's hockey team to a dramatic victory over No. 6 Clarkson at Cheel Arena.  The victory by St. Lawrence evens the ECAC Hockey Quarterfinal best-of-three series and forces a deciding game three tomorrow afternoon.

No. 6 Clarkson Drops Saints 5-0 to Win Game One

Feb. 26: The St. Lawrence University women's hockey team suffered a 5-0 loss to No. 6 Clarkson University on Friday afternoon in the opening game of a best-of-three ECAC Hockey Quarterfinal series.  Clarkson goalie Lauren Dahm made 19 saves to earn the shutout, and five different players had goals as the Knights defeated the Saints in the postseason for the first time.

St. Lawrence Alumna Wins Second Olympic Gold

Feb. 25: St. Lawrence University alumna Gina Kingsbury '04 has won her second Olympic gold medal as Canada's women's hockey team defeated the United States 2-0 in Vancouver on Thursday evening.

Saints Hold off Dartmouth on “Senior Day,” Draw Clarkson in Playoffs

Feb. 20: The St. Lawrence University women's hockey team's Class of 2010 left Appleton Arena in style on Saturday afternoon, as the Saints held off Dartmouth 4-3 in the regular season finale.  The Saints, who celebrated "Senior Day" for the seven classmates, finish the year as the No. 7 seed in the ECAC Hockey standings and will travel to Potsdam, NY next week for a best-of-three series with archrival Clarkson in the tournament quarterfinals.

Late Penalty Shot Helps No. 5 Crimson Escape Saints Upset Bid, 2-1

Feb. 19: The St. Lawrence University women's hockey team's upset bid against nationally-ranked No. 5 Harvard came up just short on Friday night at Appleton Arena, as the Crimson tied the game late in the third period before Randi Griffin scored on a penalty shot with only 24.3 seconds left in regulation to help the visitors escape with a 2-1 win.

Smith Nominated for 2010 Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award

Feb. 17: St. Lawrence University senior assistant captain Britni Smith has been nominated for the 2010 Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award, presented annually to the top player in women's college hockey.  A total of 45 players are being considered for the prestigious honor, which is presented by The USA Hockey Foundation.

Weber, Princeton Blank Saints, 3-0

Feb. 13: The St. Lawrence University women's hockey team outshot Princeton University 26-24 on Saturday afternoon at Hobey Baker Rink, but came away empty thanks to a stand-out performance in net by the Tigers' goalie Rachel Weber.  Weber turned back each of the shots she faced, and Princeton, behind a pair of power play goals, turned back the Scarlet and Brown, 3-0.

Quinnipiac Wins 2-1 to Snap Saints’ Win Streak

Feb. 12: The St. Lawrence University women's hockey team saw its three-game win streak come to a halt on Friday night in Hamden, CT, as Quinnipiac University used a pair of third period goals and a solid outing in net by Victoria Vigilanti to defeat the Saints 2-1 in ECAC Hockey play.

Vote Britni Smith, Brittony Chartier into 2010 Skills Challenge!

This year, hockey fans from all over the country have the opportunity to vote their favorite players into the 2010 NCAA Frozen Four Skills Challenge, to be held at Ford Field in Detroit, MI during the men's national championship tournament.  A total of 78 players have been nominated to participate, including St. Lawrence University seniors Britni Smith and Brittony Chartier.
