Weisz, Power Play Turn Back Brown 3-1

Oct. 31: Senior goaltender Maxie Weisz stopped 17 of 18 shots to earn her first win since January of 2008 and St. Lawrence University's women's hockey team converted on its first three power play opportunities of the game to complete a weekend sweep of its home-opening ECAC Women's Hockey series with a 3-1 win over Brown at Appleton Arena Saturday afternoon.

Emond Continues to Thrive as No. 7/6 Saints Shutout Yale

Oct. 30: St. Lawrence University sophomore Vanessa Emond continued her consistent scoring with a three-point outing against Yale University on Friday afternoon, leading the No. 7/6 Saints to a 4-0 shutout of the Bulldogs.  Emond finished with two power play goals and an assist as the Scarlet and Brown improved to 28-0-1 all-time against Yale.

No. 3 Clarkson Outlasts No. 7 Saints 4-1 in ECAC Hockey Opener

Oct. 27: The No. 7 St. Lawrence University women's hockey team dropped its 2009-10 ECAC Hockey regular season opener on Tuesday night to North Country rival Clarkson University at Cheel Arena by the score of 4-1.  First-year student Michelle Ng scored her second goal in as many games, while junior assistant captain Brittony Chartier made 23 saves while allowing two goals.

No. 6/7 Saints Use Another Third Period Rally to Tie No. 3 UNH

Oct. 24: The No. 6/7 St. Lawrence University women's hockey team came from behind in the third period for the second time in as many days to earn a 3-3 tie with No. 3 New Hampshire on Saturday afternoon at Appleton Arena.  The Saints' first-year students were key in the game, as they accounted for all three goals including two in the final seven minutes of regulation to dig out of a two-goal deficit and earn a tie with one of the nation's premier teams.

Emond and Chartier Rally No. 6/7 Saints to 2-2 Tie

Oct. 23: St. Lawrence University sophomore forward Vanessa Emond scored two goals including the game-tying tally midway through the third period to lift the No. 6/7 Saints to a 2-2 tie with No. 9 Boston University at Appleton Arena on Friday evening.  The Saints (2-1-2) were backstopped by senior assistant captain Brittony Chartier, who turned in a season-high 33 saves against the Terriers.

Goldsmith, Sabatine Earn ECAC Hockey Honor in Consecutive Weeks

Oct. 20: It didn't take long for the women's hockey team's first-year class to begin earning recognition, as two members of the group have each been named ECAC Hockey's "Rookie of the Week" to open the 2009-10 weekly awards.  Jamie Goldsmith earned the honor after a breakout weekend against UConn and Providence, while Kelly Sabatine landed the award after a solid showing at Robert Morris University.

No. 8/10 Saints Use Four-Goal Third Period to Sweep Colonials, 6-3

Oct. 17: The No. 8/10 St. Lawrence University women's hockey team used a four-goal third period to rally past Robert Morris University at Clearview Arena in Pittsburgh, PA on Saturday.  The Saints (2-1-1) battled out of a two-goal deficit in the second period to rally for a 6-3 victory and sweep the Colonials (1-5-0) in the weekend series.

Zimmerman’s Late Goal Gives No. 8/10 Saints First Win of 2009-10

Oct. 16: The No. 8/10 St. Lawrence University women's hockey team picked up its first win of the 2009-10 season on Friday evening against Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh, PA.  Sophomore Alley Bero tied the game at 2-2 early in the third period, while junior defenseman Michelle Zimmerman tallied the game-winner with only 2:34 left in regulation to lift the Saints past the Colonials 3-2.

Goldsmith Scores Twice as Saints Tie Friars, 3-3

Oct. 10: St. Lawrence University first-year student Jamie Goldsmith scored her first two collegiate goals on Saturday afternoon against Providence College at Appleton Arena.  Though the Saints had the lead three separate times, the Friars showed great resiliency and managed to scrap out a 3-3 tie behind a goal by Ashley Cottrell with 1:30 remaining in regulation.

Huskies Spoil No. 5 Saints Home-Opener, 2-1

Oct. 9: The No. 5 St. Lawrence University women's hockey team opened its 2009-10 regular season schedule on Friday evening at Appleton Arena against the University of Connecticut.  Though the Saints jumped out to a 1-0 lead, the Huskies would rally with a goal in each of the final two periods to upset the home team 2-1.
