Emard and Akstull Lead Rally as Saints Tie UConn, 4-4

Oct. 11: Sophomore Karell Emard and junior Tara Akstull scored third period goals only 1:34 apart to rally the No. 7/6 St. Lawrence University women's hockey team to a 4-4 tie with the University of Connecticut at Freitas Ice Forum on Saturday afternoon.

The Saints (1-0-1, 0-0-0) finished with a tight 31-28 advantage in shots on goal, while neither team was able to get much going on the power play. St. Lawrence finished 0-for-3 with the player advantage while UConn was 0-for-2.

Duggan, Chartier Shine in Season Opener as Saints Win 3-1

Oct. 10: Senior assistant captain Carson Duggan scored two goals including the game-winner and junior goaltender Brittony Chartier made 27 saves in her St. Lawrence University debut as the No. 7/6 women's hockey team held off Providence College by the score of 3-1 at Schneider Arena on Friday night in the team's 2008-09 season opener.
