Saints Split with Cardinals

April 29:  The St. Lawrence University softball team split its non-conference doubleheader with St. John Fisher on Sunday afternoon in Rochester, NY.  The Saints dropped the opener, 4-0, before rebounding to win the nightcap by the score of 4-1. 

Saints Sweep on “Senior Day”, Clinch Playoff Berth

April 28:  The St. Lawrence University softball team clinched the No. 4 seed in the 2012 Liberty League Tournament as it swept Skidmore College on Saturday.  The Saints battled back from an early 2-0 deficit to earn a 5-2 victory in game one, then blanked the Thoroughbreds in game two with a 7-0 win. 

Saints Split with Continentals in Extra Innings

April 18:  The St. Lawrence University softball team split with Hamilton College in a non-conference doubleheader on Wednesday evening in Clinton, NY. The Saints came out on top of game 1, winning 5-4 through 10 innings, while the Continentals earned a 4-3 victory in game two on a squeeze bunt in the eighth inning.

Saints Win Game One Against Rochester; Tie Game Two in Seventh, but Yellowjackets Earn Split

April 15: The St. Lawrence University softball team handed the University of Rochester its first loss in Liberty League action on Saturday, earning a split in Rochester, NY. The Saints (15-9, 2-6) took the opener, 5-4, recording the program's first win against the Yellowjackets since 2002. A five-run seventh inning in game two knotted the game at 6-6, but Rochester (19-10, 5-1) earned the walk-off win on an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh.

Saints Earn Split against RIT

April 14: The St. Lawrence University softball team earned a doubleheader split against host RIT on Saturday in Rochester, NY. After falling 7-4 in game one, the Saints outlasted an RIT rally to win game two in eighth inning by the score of 6-5.

Dutchwomen Take Two Against Saints

April 8:  The St. Lawrence University softball team dropped two Liberty League games to Union College on Sunday by the scores of 7-3 and 4-1 (9).  The Dutchwomen used a four-run second inning to claim the opener, and then scored three unanswered runs in the ninth inning of game two to earn the sweep.

Engineers Sweep Saints in Liberty League Opener

April 7: The St. Lawrence University softball team lost a pair of Liberty League contests on Saturday to conference foe Rensselaer by the scores of 8-0 (5 innings) and 15-1 (5 innings). RPI's first-year pitcher Kristina Weltzin held the Saints to four hits on the day and had plenty of offense backing her up as the Engineers earned the sweep.

McGinley, Plimpton Fuel Saints to Sweep of Potsdam

April 3:  The St. Lawrence University softball team improved to 13-3 on the season with a sweep of Potsdam State in a non-conference doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon in Potsdam, NY.  Highlighting the day were impressive pitching performances by junior Liz McGinley and rookie Kyle Plimpton.  McGinley allowed only three hits in a dominating 5-1 victory in game one, while Plimpton established a new University record for strikeouts in a season as she fanned nine in the 9-4 win in game two.
