Fairfield, CT -- May 10, 2012 by L.A. Pomeroy -- Never before in its 39-year history had an Intercollege Horse Show Associate hunter seat team coach won two IHSA National Championships for two different colleges or universities.

But that was before Mary Drueding.

Senior Abby Cook finished fifth in the College Cup competition in open equitation over fences Saturday morning, clinching the 2012 Intercollegiate Horse Show Association Championship for the St. Lawrence University riding team. It is the sixth national championship in Saint program history, but the first since 1990s.

St. Lawrence University's riding team has its third national individual champion in the last two years and is off to a strong start in the team competition at the 2012 Intercollegiate Horse Show Association National Championship Show in Raleigh, NC
