St. Lawrence University's men's soccer team had to play a man down for nearly the full game after a red card on its starting goalie in the first four minutes of play, and sustained its first Liberty League loss of the year as Union eked out a 1-0 win in Schenectady on Saturday.
Sophomore Brendan Gorman scored both goals in a big first
half for St. Lawrence University's men's soccer team and the Saints went on to
a 2-1 win over Skidmore College in the Liberty League opener for both teams in
Saratoga Friday afternoon.
Sept. 19: Senior Yoon Sik Jung came off the bench to score
one goal and set up another, leading St. Lawrence University's men's soccer
team to a 4-0 win over Elmira and a sweep of its weekend road series.
Sept. 18: St. Lawrence University's men's soccer team scored
three goals in the first 17:44 of play and went on to a 3-2 NCAA Division III
soccer victory over the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester on
Friday afternoon.

forward Dan Marvin headed in the winning goal with just 2:50 left in regulation
to cap a comeback from two goals down and lift St. Lawrence University's men's
soccer team to a 3-2 win over SUNY Geneseo on MacAllaster Field Saturday afternoon.
Friday's NCAA Division III men's soccer game between the
University of Rochester and St. Lawrence University at the Saints' Sandy
MacAllaster Field was a treat for the fans, but a disappointment for the Saints as the Yellowjackets handed SLU
its first loss of the season 2-1 in overtime.

championship in the Lotto Tournament for the third straight year and the sixth
time in the seven-year history of the event with a 6-0 victory over North
Country rival Potsdam State at Sandy MacAllaster Field Sunday afternoon.
A trio of rookies playing their first official collegiate
game kept a long streak of St. Lawrence season-opening success intact as they
helped the Saints to a 3-1 win over Keene State College in the opening game of
the seventh annual Lotto Classic at Sandy MacAllaster Field on the St. Lawrence
campus Saturday afternoon.
While St. Lawrence University's men's soccer program has
established itself as one of the best in the Northeast and a consistent factor
in national tournaments over the last 15 years, every new season brings new
challenges. Some are bigger than others.
