Flanagan MVP, Saints Tourney Champs in Shootout

Greg Carey scored the championship deciding goal in a shootout on Saturday night as St. Lawrence University won its second New Year's Eve championship at Dartmouth College after the Saints and host Big Green skated to a 2-2 tie in the final of the 2011 Ledyard Bank Classic.

Saints, Merrimack Tie 6-6, SLU Advances To Final in Shootout

Kyle Flanagan and George Hughes combined for three goals and three assists in their return to action following injury and St. Lawrence University's men's hockey team advanced to the championship game of the Ledyard Bank Classic at Dartmouth College with a nine-round shootout win after skating to a 6-6 tie with nationally seventh-ranked Merrimack in the tournament opener Friday night.

Drewiske, Moss Lead Saints To 2-1 Win at Vermont

St. Lawrence University captain Jacob Drewiske snapped a 1-1 tie with his fifth goal of the season with 3:57 to play and senior goaltender Robby Moss turned in an outstanding performance in goal as the Saints tipped the University of Vermont 2-1 to conclude pre-holiday competition in Burlington on Saturday night.

Dr. Schuckers’ Hockey Research Featured in “Academic Minute”

Dec. 16: St. Lawrence University Associate Professor of Statistics, Dr. Michael Schuckers, was featured today on Inside Higher Ed, WAMC public radio in Albany and a variety of public stations throughout the country.  Dr. Schuckers undertook a statistical analysis of shootouts in the National Hockey League and the statistics surrounding both the shooters and goaltenders.  Listen to his description of his work and his findings here.

Saints Snap Streaks With 4-1 Win over Clarkson

The 1980 Rink at Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid proved to be just the tonic St. Lawrence University's men's hockey team needed on Saturday night as the Saints improved to 9-3-0 in that venue with a 4-1 win over arch rival Clarkson.

Saints Battle Back, But Clarkson Prevails 5-3

St. Lawrence University's hockey team finally found a way to get some pucks behind Clarkson senior goaltender Paul Karpowich, but three weren't enough on Tuesday night as the Golden Knights snapped a tie with a late goal and added an empty-netter to hand the Saints their fourth straight loss, 5-3 in the first of two meetings this week between the North Country rivals.

Colgate Hands Saints 6-2 Loss, Snaps Streak

The Colgate duo of sophomore center Chris Wagner and senior wing Austin Smith combined for three goals and five assists as the Raiders snapped an eight-game losing streak against St. Lawrence with a 6-2 ECAC Hockey victory at Starr Rink Saturday night.

Weninger Outstanding in 1-0 Loss at Cornell

St. Lawrence University hockey goalie Matt Weninger experienced an all-too-familiar feeling at Cornell's Lynah Rink on Friday night as he came through with a scintillating performance in net, but his Saint teammates couldn't find sufficient offensive support as Cornell skated to a 1-0 win over the Saints before a sellout crowd of 4267.
