Doherty Named ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week

St. Lawrence University freshman forward Patrick Doherty has been named ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week after scoring two goals in a 6-5 loss to the Rochester Institute of Technology.

RIT Rallies To Deny Saints 1st Win, 6-5 in OT

 RIT scored an extra attacker goal to tie the game with nine seconds to go in regulation and then won it with a goal just 14 seconds into overtime, denying St. Lawrence University a chance for its first win of the 2011-12 hockey season with a 6-5 win before a sellout crowd of 10,556 at the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester Saturday night.

Clarkson Game Tickets On Sale Monday

Oct. 13: Tickets for the St. Lawrence University men's hockey team's games versus north country rival Clarkson University will go on sale this Monday, October 17 at 9:00am.

Michigan Rips Saints 10-3

A game that started well for St. Lawrence University's men's hockey team did not end well as the University of Michigan shrugged off a 1-0 Saint lead with three goals in a span of 3:16 of the third period and went on to a 10-3 win over the Saints at Yost Arena in Ann Arbor Thursday night.

The 2011-12 men's hockey season did not get off to the kind of start the Saints were looking for as Ferris State completed a two-game sweep in the home openers with a 5-1 win at Appleton Arena Saturday afternoon, and things will not get any easier with a big road trip looming.

Penalties Hurt Saints in 4-2 Loss To Ferris State

Penalties proved costly for the St. Lawrence University men's hockey team as the Saints gave Ferris State eight power play opportunities and cut two of their own short with penalties while a man down as Ferris turned back the Saints 4-2 in the official NCAA season opener for both teams at Appleton Arena Friday night.

Marsh To Take Medical Leave from Coaching Position

St. Lawrence University men's ice hockey head coach Joe Marsh has announced his intention to take an indefinite medical leave from his coaching position effective immediately. "I think it is best for the team that I step aside until this medical problem is taken care of," said Marsh.

Saints Drop 5-2 Exhibition Decision To Carleton

The best part of Sunday afternoon's 5-2 loss to Carleton University of Ottawa for St. Lawrence University's men's hockey team is that it doesn't count.
