Saints Suffer 21-7 Loss to Susquehanna

Oct. 31: The St. Lawrence University football team dropped another tight game on Saturday, as the Crusaders of Susquehanna University held on for a 21-7 victory in a driving rain storm in Canton, NY.  The Scarlet and Brown had several chances to creep back into the game in the fourth quarter, but turnovers ended their hopes of knocking off the second place team in the Liberty League.

Saints Fall to RPI in Defensive Battle, 10-7

Oct. 24: The St. Lawrence University football team battled both the elements and a gritty Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) football team on Saturday in Troy, NY.  In heavy rain, the two teams used outstanding defensive efforts, with RPI able to hang on to a narrow 10-7 Liberty League victory at the East Campus Stadium.

Bryant Selected to “Team Stars & Stripes” in Bowl of the Stars

Oct. 23: St. Lawrence University senior captain Gerard Bryant has been selected to represent St. Lawrence, Division III football, and the United States in the Tazon de Estrellas, or Bowl of the Stars, in Mexico.  The game pits the best American Division III football players against the Monterrey Tech Stars on Saturday, December 19.

Union Escapes Saints’ Upset Bid in Overtime, 20-17

Oct. 17: The St. Lawrence University football team took the first place team in the Liberty League to the brink on Saturday, as the Saints held a lead in the fourth quarter and in overtime against Union.  However, Justin Gallo came down with a 5-yard touchdown pass on 3rd-and-goal in overtime to give the Dutchmen a 20-17 come-from-behind victory over St. Lawrence at Leckonby Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Vella, Statesmen Hand Saints 33-10 Defeat

Oct. 3: The St. Lawrence University football team dropped its first Liberty League contest of the season on Saturday to Hobart College in Geneva, NY by the score of 33-10.  The Statesmen were led by quarterback Doug Vella, who threw for 201 yards and a touchdown in anchoring the team's balanced offensive attack.
