Saints Put Up Tough Fight, but Red Dragons Win 3-2 in Double OT

Oct. 28:  The St. Lawrence University field hockey team, ranked 16th in the national polls and 2nd in the region, played a game full of heart Wednesday against Cortland State, ranked # 6th in the national polls and 1st in the region, but were defeated in double overtime 3-2.  The outcome of the game doesn't do justice to the fight the Saints put up on North Country Field.

Smith Named ECAC Player of the Week

Oct. 28:  Senior forward Joss-Elyse Smith was named ECAC Player of the Week for the Division III Mid-Atlantic Region, Tuesday Oct. 27 after a 12 point week for the Saints.

Saints Nationally Ranked 16th by NFHCA and 2nd in Region by NCAA

Oct. 26:  The St. Lawrence University field hockey team has been nationally ranked 16th by the NFHCA and 2nd in the region by the NCAA.

Saints Shut-out Brewers 3-0

Oct. 25:  The St. Lawrence University field hockey team, now 12-3 overall, shut-out Vassar College 3-0 in their last conference game of the season Sunday afternoon.  The Scarlet and Brown are currently in a three-way tie for first place in the Liberty League with Skidmore and Hamilton, all maintaining records of 6-1.

Saints Shut Down Engineers 4-2

Oct. 24:  The St. Lawrence University field hockey team, now 11-3 overall and 5-1 in the conference, topped Rensselaer 4-2 Saturday in a big liberty league contest.

Saints Nationally Ranked Top 20 by womensfieldhockey.com

Oct. 22:  The St. Lawrence University women's field hockey team has been nationally ranked top 20 for the week beginning Oct. 19, 2009 by www.womensfieldhockey.com.

Saints Fall 6-5 to Top Ten Nationally Ranked Panthers

Oct. 21:  The St. Lawrence University field hockey team, now 10-3 and currently ranked 2nd in the region, played hard Wednesday, but fell short by one to Middlebury College 6-5.  The panthers are currently ranked tenth in the country, while the Saints follow at 17th.

Saints Rout Nazareth 5-0 on Senior Day

Senior Day for St. Lawrence University's field hockey team turned into a scoring festival for the youngsters as sophomore Emily Riley scored two goals and juniors Brooke Maloney and Michelle Laframboise added a goal and an assist each in a 5-0 rout of Nazareth College at North Country Field on Saturday.

Saints Shut Out Blue Knights 4-0

Oct. 13:  The St. Lawrence field hockey team, now 9-2, shut out Geneseo Tuesday night 4-0 in Canton, NY on North Country Field.

Lannamann Named to Honor Roll for Outstanding Performance in Net

Oct. 13:  Senior goalkeeper Emilie Lannamann was selected to the honor roll by the staff at womensfieldhockey.com in recognition of her outstanding playing last weekend against Skidmore and Union.
