Palermo Helps Saints to 5-4 Win over Skidmore, Tournament Called on Sunday

TROY, N.Y. (May 14) - Freshman Bryan Palermo broke a 2-2 tie with a double in the bottom of the eight inning and the St. Lawrence University baseball team held on for a, 5-4, victory over Skidmore College in an elimination game of the Liberty League Tournament, Saturday in Troy. The Saints will take on RPI, a 17-3 loser to Clarkson, in an elimination game Sunday at 9 a.m.

RPI Tops Saints in Game One of Liberty League Tourney





TROY, N.Y (May 13). - Powered by a five-run effort in the middle innings and a
solid complete game outing by senior hurler Mike Cieszko, the Rensselaer
Polytechnic Institute   baseball team defeated St. Lawrence
University, 5-2, in the second game of the Liberty League Tournament at
Robison Field.

With the victory, the Engineers improve to 24-14, while
the Saints slip to 18-20.

Saints Take Game 2 on Sunday, Earn Liberty League Tournament Spot

The 2011 regular season went right down to the wire for St. Lawrence University's baseball team, but a 9-5 win in game two of a doubleheader at Clarkson's Jack Phillips Stadium put the Saints into the 2011 Liberty League tournament as the fourth seed. Clarkson scored nine runs in its final three at bats of game one for a 9-6 win and the Saints had to win game two to stay ahead of Rochester in the league playoff race

Saints Gain Split With Clarkson; Stay Alive in Playoff Race

Pinch runner Tom Pasquali went from first to third on a wild pitch and scored on shortstop Ethan Braddock's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth inning, snapping a 4-4 tie and sending St. Lawrence on its way to a 7-4 Liberty League victory over Clarkson for a split of a key league doubleheader between the two North Country rivals.

Ithaca Blanks Saints To Continue Long Win Streak

Ithaca College continued a long string of success against St. Lawrence University's baseball team on Wednesday with a 4-0 shutout win at Ithaca.

Skidmore Sweeps Saints, Takes 3 of 4 in Weekend Series

St. Lawrence University's baseball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader at Skidmore on Sunday, but remains in contention for a Liberty League playoff spot with four games left against arch-rival Clarkson next weekend.
