Rochester Sweeps Saints in Liberty League Doubleheader

The University of Rochester rolled to a 8-1 lead and coasted
to a 10-3 win in game two of a Liberty League doubleheader at St.
Lawrence’s Tom Fay Field Saturday afternoon, sweeping the twinbill and
taking three of four from the Saints in a four-game league series.

Rochester improved to 15-3 overall and 7-1 in league
play while the Saints are 5-10 and 1-6 in the Liberty League.

Cook Pitches Saints to Split with Rochester

Sophomore pitcher Chris Cook pitched a nine-inning complete game
and the Saints scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth in a 5-4
win over the University of Rochester to gain a split in a Liberty
League doubleheader, handing Rochester its first league loss.

In game one, Rochester rallied with three runs in the top of the
seventh to win 4-2. Rochester will take a 13-3 overall mark and a 5-1
league record into a 12:00 Saturday doubleheader while the Saints are
now 5-8 overall and 1-5 in league play.

Rensselaer Completes Weekend Sweep

It was a tough day for a young St. Lawrence University
baseball team at defending Liberty League champion Rensselaer on Sunday
as the Redhawks swept the Saints 7-1 and 25-2 in a doubleheader to
complete the first weekend of league play.

RPI, 8-4 overall and 4-0 in the league, got a four hitter form John
Dreimeille in game one and outhit the Saints 25-9 in the nightcap,
scoring 13 times in the third inning to coast to the lopsided second
game win. The Saints, 4-7 overall and 0-4 in league play are scheduled
to host Rochester next weekend.

Rensselaer Sweeps Saints in Liberty League Openers

Rensselaer rallied from a 3-0 deficit in game one
of a Liberty League doubleheader to win 8-4 and stormed out to a 7-0
lead in game two before winning 10-6 to complete a sweep in the Liberty
League openers for both teams.

Saints Top Fredonia, Lakeland to Finish Florida Trip

St. Lawrence University’s baseball team finished
its 2009 Florida trip with a flourish, winning the final three games to
take a 4-3 overall record into the start of Liberty League play at
Rensselaer on Saturday.

The Saints beat Fredonia 17-10 on Wednesday and turned back Lakeland
7-5 on Thursday to complete their seven-game series in Fort Meyers.

Saints Split Monday Games in Florida

Lakeland College scored nine runs in the top
of the seventh inning and took a 17-4 win from St. Lawrence in game one
of a two-game set in Fort Meyers, FL on Monday, but the Saints bounced
back to beat Babson 8-6 in the second game.

St. Lawrence, now 2-3, has Tuesday off before
concluding its Florida trip with games Wednesday and Thursday. The
Saints are scheduled to open Liberty League competition in Troy against
defending champion RPI on Saturday.

Saints 1-2 After Split With Scranton

St. Lawrence University’s baseball team
rallied with five runs with two outs in the bottom of the seventh
inning to win game one of a doubleheader 9-8 against Scranton on Sunday
and are 1-2 after Scranton came back to take the nightcap 4-2 in a
well-pitched game by both teams.

Ryan Fedo had the game winning hit for the Saints in game one,
driving in two runs. Garrett Fitzgerald went four-for-four with two
runs driven in. Kyle Donaldson earned his first collegiate win on the
mound in relief of Sean Voss.
