Visiting Historian of Thai and Southeast Asian Studies for Fall 2010

SLU welcomes Dr. Ratanaporn Sethakul, Associate Professor of History, Thai and Southeast Asian Studies at Payap University, Chiang Mai, Thailand, who joins us as Visiting Professor for the fall semester. A native of Thailand and specialist in Northern Thai ("Lanna") history, Dr. Ratanaporn will offer two courses in the fall:ASIA 147 B and C, "Thailand and her Neighbors" (1 credit) and "Contemporary Thailand" (.5 credit). Courses are open to all students, but are particularly appropriate for those returning from and planning to apply for a semester of study in Thailand.  See Faculty & Staff Directory for more on Dr. Ratanaporn's current research interests.
