You never know where a doodle can take you. For John Daly, doodling became a career as a political cartoonist, a career that might not have been successful without the broad perspective of a liberal arts education.
“I have a wide range of clients who publish news in the areas of politics, the economy and culture, and I need to understand all the issues,” explains the 1986 St. Lawrence graduate. “Plus,
as I obtained a liberal arts education, I also attained the confidence to believe I could do whatever I set my mind to doing.” John has penned cartoons for the
Boston Globe, Boston Herald and Albany (NY)
Times-Union.
At St. Lawrence, John was a
government major and was active in the
Greek system. He is the parent of Kirby Daly, a
first-year student at SLU, and lives in Saratoga Springs, NY.
