I grew up here in the North Country and have always had a interest in art. I knew early on that I wanted to peruse an education in something I really loved, so I knew right away that I couldn’t see myself anywhere else except within the arts. My experiences at S.L.U. have only deepened my passion for art. I work in all mediums, experimenting, and trying new things. I’ve covered a wide range of mediums, and I was mostly interested and focused in drawing, printmaking, and photography. In spring 2011, I participated in the Annual Student Exhibit at the Brush Art Gallery, and I was also inducted into the Art and Art History Honor Society.

I’m also involved in the Education department. After taking a few classes in the department I realized that I had a passion for education. In my classes I have had multiple opportunities to work with teachers in the public school system including participating in the Reading Buddies program. Through that program I worked with students at Herman-DeKalb Central School to improve their literacy skills. After getting my education certificate from St. Lawrence, I hope to pursue a career in arts education.
