Reporting of stalking experiences

• Overall, 83.1% of stalking incidents were NOT reported to police or campus law enforcement
• 93.4% of survivors confided in someone, most often a friend, that they were being stalked

Prevalence of stalking

• 1 out of every 12 women is stalked, as well as 1 out of every 45 men
• 94% of female victims are stalked by men
• 60% of male victims are stalked by men
• Overall, 87% of stalkers are men
• The average duration of stalking is 1.8 years

• 81% of women stalked by a current or former intimate partner are also physically assaulted by that partner
