On Saturday, October 26, the St. Lawrence University Greek Community kicked off Halloween with their annual participation in Phantom in the Park. Phantom in the Park is an amazing event where St. Lawrence Greeks work together with the St. Lawrence community to transform the town green into a Halloween destination for kids and their families with pumpkins, corn husks, and spider webs. With events like mummy wrapping, cookie decorating and pumpkin carving, children and their families trick-or-treated their way from table to table throughout the day. In addition to the many fun activities provided by St. Lawrence students, there is also the opportunity to participate in raffles, a cakewalk and even take your picture with the local firehouse dalmatian.
Despite the rain and cold weather, nothing could stop the event from culminating in its annual Halloween Parade where children and their families sported their Halloween costumes to parade before the community. Costumes included the Minions of Despicable Me, witches and even St. Lawrence hockey players! Phantom in the Park is just one of the many exciting ways St. Lawrence students get involved in the local community.
