Holidays:  A Great Time to Consider Your Future

November and December are the "months of holidays," but also a great time for high school seniors to complete your college applications, if you haven't already, and for juniors to continue working on your college list.

Seniors, as you complete your applications, remember to complete all items that pertain to you, to use good grammar, and to spell-out abbreviations. Your goal is to make it as easy as possible for admissions officers to read about your achievements and dreams. Give your reference sources plenty of time to meet your deadline. Read your essay one last time, have another set of eyes review it, and don't merely rely on spell check!

Juniors should continue building and refining your list of colleges. Use the same research skills you are learning in the classroom to research colleges and universities. As you are reviewing websites, concentrate on the three As:   About, Academics and Admissions.

Enjoy your holidays, but also take meaningful steps towards your future!
