Community Service Scholarship
Ryan Moore '09
Ryan Moore '09, Keene, NH, intended major environmental studies: St. Lawrence has fulfilled both his academic and non-academic interests.

The men's soccer team, the environmental studies program and the Kenya study program were what attracted Ryan Moore from Keene, NH, to St. Lawrence.

Ryan has always been involved in community service activities. At St. Lawrence, he is active with the University's Habitat for Humanity chapter. When asked about his most meaningful involvement with the organization, he replies, "Last spring, I went with a Habitat group to Slidell, LA, to take part in a Hurricane Katrina relief project." Ryan is also glad he had the chance to work with Native American children at their reservation through a class on Native American Children and Youth.

Ryan is also a member of St. Lawrence's Student Athlete Advisory Committee, which engages in community service activities such as assisting at a local food bank and with holiday toy drives. After graduation, he wants to join the Peace Corps.
