How Do We Get There?

St. Lawrence University Bookstore. For those traveling with a GPS, the bookstores street address is 96 Park Street, Canton, NY 13617.
From the Bookstore you can find Payson Hall (Office of Admissions & Financial Aid) across the street from the football fields or you can stop into the Bookstore and ask for a campus map and visitor packet.
Canton is located on U.S. Route 11 about 1-1/4 hours northeast of Watertown,
N.Y. (If you're traveling that way, follow route 11 north past Watertown). |

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the U.S. Department of State (DOS) remind the traveling public that as of January 31, 2008, all adult travelers will be required to present proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate, and proof of identity, such as a driver’s license, when entering the United States through land and sea ports of entry.
Currently, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers may accept oral declarations of citizenship from U.S. and Canadian citizens seeking entry into the United States through a land or sea border. However, as of January 31, 2008:
- Oral declarations of citizenship and identity alone will no longer be accepted
- U.S. and Canadian citizens ages 19 and older will need to present a government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, AND proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate or naturalization certificate
- Children ages 18 and under will only be required to present proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate
- Passports and trusted traveler program cards - NEXUS, SENTRI and FAST - will continue to be accepted for cross-border travel

Bus: Adirondack Trailways services Canton with two round trips
a day from Syracuse, with a stop at the Syracuse airport, and one round trip
a day from the Port Authority in New York, via Albany.
Air Travel:
Cape Air serves three regional airports in our area:
Ogdensburg International Airport(airport code: OGS), 19 road miles from campus, served three times daily non-stop to/from Albany International Airport (airport code: ALB)
Massena International Airport(airport code: MSS), 35 road miles from campus, served three times daily non-stop to/from Albany International Airport (airport code: ALB)
Adirondack Regional Airport (airport code: SLK) in Saranac Lake, 70 miles from campus, served three times daily non-stop to/from Boston, MA (airport code: BOS).
Alternatively, consider Ottawa, approximately 1-1/4 hours to campus from the airport. You will need to have proof of U.S. citizenship (a passport) if you are a U.S. citizen flying from the U.S. to Ottawa. Or Syracuse, where you can connect with Adirondack Trailways (1-800-776-7548) to Canton twice a day.
