Advice for Your Visit
Plan your trip: Pick a date when you would like to visit, preferably when our classes are in session, and then call us well in advance so we can make arrangements.
Bring your family: Since they'll be involved in your college decision, they'll want to see and learn about the colleges you're considering.
Ask questions: This is your best chance to find out about us. Ask factual questions ("How many lab courses are there?") as well as more general "feeling" questions (How do you like St. Lawrence?") or everybody you meet - not only your admissions counselor, but also students, faculty and coaches.
Take notes: Especially if you're visiting several colleges, write down your questions and impressions; they'll prove invaluable to you later.
Wander: Allow time in your schedule after your interview and tour for you and your family to roam about campus on your own. Revisit places you saw on your tour that you would like to gain a strong feel for; have a soda by the student center fireplace; browse the Internet in the library; sit down with a Caribou coffee in the bookstore and peruse a book about Shakespeare or the Adirondacks.
Trust your feelings: "Because it feels right" is the number one reason students give for choosing a college. So go with the way you feel when you're on campus.
