Weekly Report: Sam and Cam

Wow, it seems like the blink of an eye
At ESL beneath the blue skies
None of us could have predicted
The amazing three months we would witness.
Slack lines, canoeing, and saunas galore
Hikes up Ampersand, Marcy and more.
Nights on the dock under the stars
Tomatoes and yogurt canned in Mason jars.
How could this have all gone so fast?
Could this week be truly the last?
Never fear there is one more to go
And we will do our best to take it slow.

This past week started out very restful. Many people found time to bake, canoe, knit, and relax. We're all beginning to realize that the end of the semester is quickly approaching, and we're trying to make the most of our remaining time here. On Saturday, Halloween gave us an excuse to dress up and forget about the paper due on Monday. However, the cold and rainy weather put a damper on the festivities, forcing us to call off the trick-or-treating. All was not lost; we were still able to consume our body weight in candy, saving the integrity of the Holiday.

Weekly Update: Kelly and Matthias

The past week at Arcadia has been filled with muddy trails, wet canoe rides, and cloudy skies. Our spirits were low and the forecast was grim, but with a swift stroke of luck the clouds parted and the sun began to shine just in time for our field trip to Indian Lake Central School.

Alex Duane and Ellie BrownOn the 30th of September we were greeted by snowfall, which led our Creative Expressions of Nature class into the warmth of the classroom yurt. Thursday provided some additional time to work on our paddles as we only have one week left to work with Everett. Friday was a grand day with Wil's fieldtrip to the Raquette Rive and the Sevey floating bog that only took two victims, Andrew and Leah. That night we canned tomatoes and prepared for our slumber party in the unloved and underappreciated community yurt.

Weekly Update by Rocky and BullwinkleThis week has marked a turning point in the lives of the Gallant Gentlefolk of Arcadia as we have now reached our midsemester break. This past Friday everyone's families arrived for Parents' Weekend and a real feast prepared by our lovely assistant directors Rachel and Calvin with "volunteer" assistance from Rainbow and Robin. The meal was fantastic as was the band, and Calvin's slideshow, featuring many "studious" shots of Arcadians, was a real hit.
