Alex Duane and Ellie BrownOn the 30th of September we were greeted by snowfall, which led our Creative Expressions of Nature class into the warmth of the classroom yurt. Thursday provided some additional time to work on our paddles as we only have one week left to work with Everett. Friday was a grand day with Wil's fieldtrip to the Raquette Rive and the Sevey floating bog that only took two victims, Andrew and Leah. That night we canned tomatoes and prepared for our slumber party in the unloved and underappreciated community yurt. The next morning we ventured south to the Adirondack Museum in Blue Mountain Lake for the Harvest Festival. The day was full of cider pressing, hay bale throwing, stilt walking, apple picking, timber framing, blacksmithing, music listening, and pumpkin painting. The past few days have been full of paper writing, breadmaking, delicious food, cold weather, torrential downpours, and love.Mustache update: Although the greens in Matthias's cold frame are growing rapidly, the hairs on his upper lip have recently suffered a blight known as the razor blight.
