Location

We utilize the whole Adirondack/North Country region for field trips, expeditions and excursions, but our home for the semester is a secluded yurt village, called Arcadia, on Lake Massawepie at the headwaters of the Grasse River. Travel into the village begins by parking at the end of a two mile dirt road, then hiking half a mile down the side of a glacial esker through giant pines to the canoe launch from which we paddle across to Arcadia. The name "Arcadia" refers to a place where we are always striving to find the right balance between wilderness and civilization.
