ODST 3002 - Modern Outdoor Recreational Ethics

This course focuses on three main components: the use of technical skills, leadership development, and wilderness ethics.  Over the first half of the semester, we will examine these themes through both direct experience and academic study to provide another lens for exploring your relationship with the natural world.  The topics of this course will be introduced through extended field expeditions, weekend activities and assigned coursework.  The views and skills you develop and expand upon during this course should help you during your time living in the woods at Arcadia, and it is our goal for you to be able to continue to use things you have learned in this class after the semester, no matter which direction your life takes.  (Half unit credit)
