“The unexamined life is not worth living,” according to philosopher Socrates (469-399 BC). The study of philosophy offers the opportunity to examine the deep questions of human existence: What does it mean to live life well? What is reality? Do we really know anything, and if so, how? Through examining such questions, students develop both creativity and critical thinking skills.
