St. Lawrence University is working on “Going Green” Which in the theatre area means more efficient use of energy / using less energy. Gulick Theatre at St. Lawrence University is one of the finest equipped small theatres in the country. Gulick theatre is controlled by an ETC EOS lighting console, controlling over 250 energy efficient ETC lighting units, plus a dozen intelligent fixtures plus 86 LED fixtures. At St. Lawrence we totally lit two concerts using LEDs plus a couple specials. The concerts used 6.5KW compared to a normal concert using 60KW.Special effects for the stage at St. Lawrence means we create practical, economical special effects. For example we designed and built an elevator that came up out of the stage floor for “Eruydice” the tricky part it had to rain in the elevator whenever the elevator was in use.
