Rhythm & Roots: femme fatale

Directed by Michael Farley & Jordan Pescrillo

The department’s Rhythm and Roots ensemble sheds new light on the meaning of femme fatale, with music by Feist, Laura Nyro, Metric, Regina Spektor, Imogen Heap, Fiona Apple and Garbage, directed by Michael Farley and Jordan Pescrillo.

While the focus is upon women performer/songwriters, guys are welcome -  singers, string players, pianists, percussionists, guitarists, bass players, sound people!

While music reading isn’t required you need to (a) be able to follow/track chord changes on a chord sheet; (b) have a basic understanding of chords so you could, for example, play an E-chord in 2 or three different positions; (c) be able to listen to a tune and, with some work on your own, imitate the singing or playing by the original musician; (d) be prepared to work with the band to create an overall sound; (d) attend every rehearsal as needed.

Rehearsals: Tuesdays and Thursdays 7-8:30 pm.

Concert date: Thursday, April 19 at 8:00 p.m. in the Underground.
