Majors & Minors

Intercultural Competence is one of the learning goals of the St. Lawrence curriculum.  In keeping with this goal the Department of Modern Languages strives to prepare students for the intercultural environment of the 21^st century.  All courses, introductory to advanced, are designed to develop linguistic skills as well as to teach the cultural context in which each language is embedded.   The department offers 4 majors, a combined major, four minors as well as beginning to intermediate Arabic, Chinese, Italian and Swahili.  Each of the language sections offer opportunities for studying abroad.

• The Multi-Language major
