Global Studies major selected for Monterey program
Khadeeja Hamid ’11, a double major in Global Studies and Economics, has been accepted to the highly competitive 2010 summer program on Global Trade & Development at the Monterey Institute of International Studies. The program offers “an integrated curriculum covering trade and trade policy, development strategies and practice, and their overlap and interactions with other crucial global issues, such as the environment.” This is just the latest honor for Hamid, a Davis United World College Scholar who also received a 2009 Tanner Fellowship to study grassroots development efforts in rural India. In the coming weeks, she will be posting some of her reflections on her India work on her blog, located on the Global Studies Department’s independent media site, the Weave.
