Sam J. Horchler `10

Hello, My name is Sam Horchler, and I am a second semester senior. College hasn't been all daisies and sunshine for me, but I stuck with it at SLU because of the English department here. It is phenomenal. I have had some of the best teachers of my life, who have taught me to think differently and to approach literature with a more perceptive and stronger eye. They have gone above and beyond, guiding my learning both in and out of the classroom. I'm fortunate in that I knew I wanted o be an English major from the very beginning, and I made it into the Irving Bacheller Society (the English Honorary) in my sophomore year. I have taken sixteen English classes here at SLU, and I don't regret any of them. I am from Montpelier, Vermont, and I am proud of it. God speed. Current favorite book: East of Eden.
