I was born in Portland, Oregon where I grew up fishing, hunting and hiking on the the Deschutes River. I attended Oregon Episcopal School till my junior year when I decided to enroll in Clarkson University’s bridge-year program for seniors in high school known as “The Clarkson School”.
After a year at Clarkson I decided to transfer to St. Lawrence to continue my Biology major at a liberal arts school that would allow me to pursue other interests. Since matriculating to St. Lawrence, I have played on the squash team for two years, switched my major to English and my minor to Biology and started a poetry club.

After Graduation

After Graduation I plan on returning to my scientific roots and obtaining a position in a lab to gain experience towards applying to graduate school in cognitive neuroscience where I hope to research the connection between language, behavior and the brain. My ultimate goal is to become a science writer like Oliver Sacks or Malcolm Gladwell, who have the unique ability not only to entertain, but also to inspire, inform and question the world around them.
