The Hill News, Horseback Riding and Reading.

I am currently a junior and an English major at St. Lawrence. I love the English department here and have been able to take classes that range in subject from creative non-fiction writing to J. R. R. Tolkien. I am a member of the Irving Bacheller society, and I ride horses and write for The Hill News in my free time. I chose to attend St. Lawrence because of the interesting classes, beautiful campus, and exciting academic opportunities such as the St. Lawrence fellowship that I had last summer. I researched and defined a subgenre of the fairy tale that I called animal-human transformation tales. I also had the opportunity to take my research to the Skidmore Undergraduate Research Conference last fall and it was a great experience! After graduation, I would love to use my degree to work as a journalist for an equestrian publication.
